Dinner Parties at Shore Acres

Seatings

We have two seatings for groups over eight guests: 5:00 or 5:30 and between 7:30 and 8:00. * With the 5:00 seating there is an option for an early arrival for a cocktail party outside. By having two seatings it allows us to accommodate another large party and our in-house guests. The 5:00 seating can enjoy up to two and one half hours of service until the next party or dinner guests arrive. The 7:30 to 8:00 time slot would be the last seating of the evening therefore there would not be a defined time limit.

If your dinner party has fifteen guests or fewer, your group can order off our menu, or you can follow the next procedures. For larger parties we suggest: (Depending on your budget Shore Acres does not require that you choose an appetizer or dessert.)

Appetizers: *

Number 1: Our chef can prepare individual appetizers. (Priced individually)
Number 2: Our chef can prepare a medley platter (crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, artisan cheeses, summer vegetables, dips etc.) $12.00 per person

Entrees: *

Number 1: You can choose one entrée.
Number 2: Allow your guests to choose between three or four entrees. Normally the three choices include beef, chicken or fish. Some examples of entrées are: apple island chicken (a sautéed boneless breast of chicken served with a homemade reduced apple cider sauce), fresh sautéed salmon filet (with a cucumber dill sauce), or slow roasted prime rib of beef (au jus). We offer traditional and small plate entrées. Traditional entrées include a salad. The small plate does not include a salad and the main entrée is a smaller portion compared to the traditional size. Desserts: *

Number 1: Our pastry chef can make one dessert. ($6.95 per person) or custom homemade cakes: ($3.50 per person)
Number 2: Allow your guest to choose between 3 or 4 desserts.
Number 3: With advanced notice a special cake can be brought in from the outside. We charge a $2.50 per person cake cutting charge.

Bar Service:

The bar would be an open bar and you could choose full service or just beer and wine. (We are not set up to offer a cash bar. Drinks ordered from the bar will be added to the dinner tab.) Beverages not purchased through Shore Acres are not allowed. (The Vermont State Law)

* After the decision is made to serve one or more entrees and the choices are made for appetizers, entrees and desserts, our chef will need a final count 10 days prior to the dinner party. Included in the final count we will need the number of each appetizer, entrée and dessert chosen. A non-refundable deposit of $250.00 for a dinner party might be required.

* We do not have private rooms for parties. The area we use is separate but not divided or cordoned off from the other guests. In our peak season we only offer private parties during the day, and in our off-season during the day or evening hours. (Please refer to inside and outside events on our website.)

Prices

Individual:

Priced individually based on the appetizer, entrée and dessert selected: please refer to our 2013 menu - prices might change in 2014.

Prices do not include Vermont’s 9% meal tax or a 20% gratuity.

All-Inclusive:

Includes appetizer medley, traditional entrée (choice of three or four: priced at 26.95 or under) dessert, coffee, tax and gratuity $59.95 per person (upgrade available for some entrée choices, i.e. rack of lamb, lobster) (Excluded: bar, tax and gratuity on bar)

Payment:

Separate checks are not available for dinner parties. Multiple credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) can be used for payment along with checks and cash.
