One of our most frequent questions is “Do you have a pool?” We have the sixth largest outdoor fresh water swimming pool in the United States. Great Lake Champlain (at least for 2 weeks it was) is one hundred and twenty miles long, up to fourteen miles wide and at the deepest point it is four hundred feet. Over 70 islands may be found in its clear waters. The lake forms a border with New York and Vermont on its eastern side. To the west it borders New York and the Adirondack Mountains. There are over 30 major tributaries that drain into Lake Champlain. The outflow for Lake Champlain is the Richelieu River where it flows into the St. Lawrence River. Shore Acres has one half mile of lakeshore with a 180 foot private dock and floating swim raft. Our beach is not a sandy beach but a beautiful shale and slate beach. We recommend wearing water shoes. Our water is clean and crisp with temperatures sometimes reaching into the upper 70s.
